Jürgen Klopp has said he doesn’t understand Oscar’s decision to leave Chelsea. Oscar has been sold by Chelsea for a whopping £60m to Chinese club Shanghai SIPG.
Lots of players with the likes of Ramires, Paulinho and Graziano Pelle have recently joined the lucrative Chinese league. Oscar will be earning a whopping £400,000 a week to play for the Chinese club.
Alexis Sanchez and Cesc Fabregas also got offers from Chinese clubs but preferred to stay with their respective clubs. A number of managers raised their concerns over China’s big money spending in recent days and Klopp also indicated that people used to think the same about the cash-rich Premier League.
He said, “I have no idea why players make decisions like this,” he said. “I work a lot and still have a private life in a surrounding I am used to.
“It’s absolutely no option to go to China. I don’t know if it’s a danger, but it’s another opportunity for players.
“Hopefully they can be happy there. I think all generations following Oscar are happy about this decision. No money worries any more.”
He further added, “You know that a few clubs in the rest of Europe think the same about England.
“The money in England to take the best players to England. It’s really always a free world. We can make our decisions.”
