Jose Mourinho has blocked a loan bid for keeper Sam Johnstone from Wolves. Mourinho was furious regarding defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson’s treatment at the club.
Borthwick-Jackson joined the Championship club on a season-long loan but has started just six games for the Paul Lambert’s side.
Wolves made an emergency move to sign the keeper after both their first team keeper Andy Lonergan and Carl Ikeme got injured but Mourinho reportedly turned down the move. Borthwick-Jackson also set to come back in January, cutting short his loan spell.
It is being reported that Mourinho sent the player to have some first team football experience but got very upset due to the limited appearances of the defender.
Johnstone is currently the third choice keeper behind David De Gea and Sergio Romero and has been on loan at various clubs including Yeovil Town and Preston North End. He recently signed a new contract at Manchester United which keeps him at the club until June 2018 with the option to extend for a further year.
