Zlatan Ibrahimović was ecstatic and heaped praises on Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who scored his first goal for Manchester United against Zorya Luhansk. United went on to win the match 2-0 with the other goal scored by Zlatan himself.
Mkhitaryan endured a difficult start at Manchester United having signed from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. He made his debut against Manchester City but had an awful evening as Jose Mourinho decided to take him off. The Armenian playmaker had been frozen out buy the gaffer but after a string of brilliant performances, the 27-year-old announced his comeback in signature style.
Mkhitaryan scored a delightful goal to open United’s account. Zlatan praised the player after the match, “The first goal was magnificent.
“Henrikh had speed and control all the way, and the timing to put it through the defender’s legs… it was beautiful! He killed the game off by scoring the goal and did a great job tonight. I’m very happy for him because he’s a quality player and I hope he continues; I know he will. I’m super happy for him.”
