Chelsea will be without the services of Diego Costa and N’Golo Kante when they will face Bournemouth on the Boxing Day.
Both the players picked up their fifth yellow card and will be serving an automatic one-match ban. Costa scored his 13th goal of the season against to fire Chelsea nine points clear of second-placed Liverpool (this was before the Man City Vs Arsenal game).
Costa picked up four yellow cards and it seemed he would survive the suspension as he went 10 matches without being cautioned by the referee. The 28-year-old got the booking when he was having an argument after a late tackle on Joe Ledley.
Defending his striker Antonio Conte later said that the Spaniard didn’t deserve the card. “Diego Costa’s yellow card, I don’t know if he deserved it.
“It happened and now we try a different solution.
“Diego and N’Golo Kante are important players for us.
“The next game is at home and we need our fans to push us.”
