Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry insisted that the Gunners need to believe in themselves if they want to win the Premier League. The Gunners are currently in second place and are unbeaten since the opening gameweek when they were beaten by Liverpool.
New signing Shkodran Mustafi has proven to be a showstopper for the Gunners as the German has emerged as a key figure in this campaign. Mustafi was signed from Valencia this summer and the North Londoners haven’t lost a match after he came to the squad.
However, things could be different as the German has been sidelined for three weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury. Arsenal have the knack of letting them down after New Year.
Henry said, “Arsenal need to have that belief that they can win the title. They need to have that confidence that sometimes people mistake for arrogance. They need to arrive at a stadium knowing that they will win each game.
“What [Shkodran] Mustafi has brought is stability. Laurent Koscielny was looking for a partner, and we all know how important it is to have someone you are used to playing with
“You may look at some of the games later and think they are easy, but trust me, it is not easy to play all those games in the festive period, especially without Mustafi.”
