The Best And The Worst Manchester United Players Rated From Their Dominant Win Over West Ham United

While it was a frustrating stalemate for Manchester United in the premier league on the weekend versus West Ham, the EFL cup was a platform to draw blood again where a winner this time was guaranteed. Jose Mourinho’s  men amidst some pressure hosted the hammers twice in a span of three days and it was a very sweet night for the men in red who played with vigour, intent and passion.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic got the first goal of the night after a fantastic backheel from Mkhitaryan who was played in by a slick pass from Rooney. West Ham struck back unexpectedly through former United man Ashley Fletcher and spoils were shared as the first half drew to a close.

The second half was all about Man United and Martial got his goal after a cracking finish and once again the assist went to Mkhitaryan who is rising match by match. Martial got the third too while Zlatan Ibrahimovic put the icing on top just before the match closed.

The much-awaited entry of Bastian Schweinsteiger was witnessed as well and every touch of his was cheered with delight. A perfect night for United  and here’s how the devils of Red have been rated.

GK : David De Gea – 5/10

Should have handled Payet’s shot that leads to the goal. Was a mere spectator for the majority of the match otherwise.

RB : Antonio Valencia – 7/10

Superb once again with clever runs and beastly defending. An integral part of the team surely now.

CB  : Phil Jones – 7/10

Good reading ability displayed and a calm presence at the back. Fourth consecutive start for Jones since 2014 which is impressive!

CB : Marcos Rojo – 7/10

Hardly put a foot wrong and tackling ability was on point today. He is proving almost everyone wrong with precise and effective performances nowadays.

LB : Luke Shaw – 6/10

Was subbed off due to injury after halftime but till when he played, it was a decent performance.
