High-flying Chelsea will take on Tony Pulis’ in-form West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and we can expect a cracker of a game. Chelsea are loving their life under new boss Antonio Conte and will be eager to stretch to winning streak to nine in the Premier League when they host the Baggies.
Chelsea beat Manchester City 3-1 last week to stretch their winning streak to eight in the Premier League and are now three points clear at the top. West Brom, on the other hand, find themselves seventh in the table after their good run of form of late and will be looking to upset Conte’s boys. Probably due to the ever-increasing demand from the fans, West Brom are not playing the Pulis way this season. They are now free-flowing, attacking side and have what it takes to upset the Blues.
West Brom are unbeaten in four games as they head to Stamford Bridge to upset the league leaders. The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City fans will be backing the Baggies in this game. West Brom will arrive at the Bridge on the back of a big victory after they secured a 3-1 victory over Watford last weekend and the Baggies will fancy their chances.
Team news
Chelsea
John Terry remains sidelined with a gluteal strain, but Matic and Cesc Fabregas will battle it out for a start in midfield. Matic missed the last game with a groin strain and Fabregas had a decent display but Conte is likely to start the Serb if he clears the late fitness test. David Luiz, Oscar, Pedro are all doubtful while van Ginkel and Zouma are lacking match fitness.
West Bromwich Albion
James Morrison and Gareth McAuley are doubts for West Brom’s trip to Chelsea. Saido Berahino and Boaz Myhill are both out with injuries.
Predicted lineups
Chelsea (3-4-3): Courtois; Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill; Moses, Kanté, Matic, Alonso; Willian, Costa, Hazard
West Brom (4-2-3-1): Foster; Dawson, McAuley, Evans, Nyom; Fletcher, Yacob; Phillips, Chadli, Brunt; Rondon
Key players
Chelsea- Diego Costa
Costa has been excellent for Chelsea this season having scored 11 Premier League goals this season from 14 games this season and also setting up five. The Spanish international will be Chelsea’s key man in breaking down the West Brom defence.
West Bromwich Albion: Matt Phillips
Matt Phillips has been impressive for the Baggies this season from the flanks. The Scotsman has set up 4 goals and scored 3 this season and will be a key player for West Brom against Chelsea.
