Arsene Wenger thinks that it is not the right time to term Chelsea as the potential title contenders. Chelsea registered their ninth consecutive win after defeating West Bromwich Albion 1-0 in the last match with Diego Costa scoring his 12th goal of the season. Arsenal also maintained their unbeaten run as they came from behind to defeat Stoke City 3-1 to keep up their hunt for a Premier League title after 13 years.
Antonio Conte’s side have been a rejuvenated team since they switched to the 3-4-3 formation. Chelsea are just three points adrift of second-placed Arsenal who had a short stay at the top after beating the Potters in the last match.
Wenger thinks there will be inconsistency in December and anything can happen, “What I believe is they [Chelsea] will be one of the candidates,” Wenger said ahead of his side’s trip to Everton on Tuesday.
“They are of course one of the teams doing extremely well, but there is no super favourite in there at the moment.
“They will have to maintain that like everybody else at the top. When you look at the league it is down to consistency.
“It is very open, very interesting. Every time a team is the favourites to win, they struggle.
“The way you respond in every game is absolutely vital. It’s a very important period where everybody has to be absolutely focused on our results and the way we want to play.”
