Chelsea are eyeing a swoop for PSG midfielder Marco Verratti. The Italian is currently one of the best playmakers across Europe. Chelsea tried to sign a number of midfielders including Radja Nainggolan but failed to lure any of those elite players.
However, Verratti’s agent has recently raised speculations about a transfer after stating that his client won’t finish his career in France.
Verratti had played under Antonio Conte and the Gaffer knows his capability. Chelsea signed N’Golo Kante from Leicester City and the French midfielder has been very instrumental behind their phenomenal form in this season.
With current form, the Blues are sure of a top four spot (to say the least) and that means they will be competing in Europe next season.
Although they also have Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic, the quality of the Italian is no match for them. Verratti loves to play in the deep-lying role and is a very good passer of the ball.
The 24-year old’s contract runs until 2021 but that shouldn’t be a problem for THE Roman who already sanctioned for a squad overhaul.
