Chelsea winger Willian has revealed that life is slowly coming back on track after his mother’s death and he is now ready for the challenge. Willian’s mother passed away in October.
Willian was allowed to attend his mother’s funeral. She was suffering from a brain tumour for almost two and a half years and after several operations and chemotherapy sessions, she died in a Sao Paulo hospital in October. Willian posted a beautiful poem on Instagram dedicating his mother.
Willian’s temporary departure opened the door for Pedro who has been in great form since then since Antonio Conte switched to a more attacking 3-4-3. After arriving from Brazil the attacker has had very limited game time. He returned against Sunderland in the starting lineup and also started against Crystal Palace.
The 28-year-old said, “It has been a difficult time for me since I lost my mum.
“It has been very difficult emotionally. She was very important for me and she always will be very important to me. After she died, I stayed in Brazil for a week. Slowly I have come back and started to feel better and to feel I can play for the team.”
He went on to add, “Now I have to think only about the good things and to keep working, keep playing. That’s what I want to do.”
