Antonio Conte has hailed his players’ character after Chelsea came from behind to register a 3-1 win over Manchester City. This was their eighth consecutive win in the Premier league this season.
Gary Cahill’s own goal gave the lead to Manchester City, but Chelsea levelled through Diego Costa. Willian then doubled the lead and Eden Hazard sealed the win with his eighth goal of the season. Chelsea are now topping the table with 34 points.
Conte said, “Today, if you have not got a great character it is very difficult to win this game,
“We need to believe in our work and we need also to continue to work very hard and to improve because for sure there are many things we can improve.”
Cesc Fabregas replaced Nemanja Matic in the Blues starting lineup. Conte handed him a surprise start as Matic was ruled out for an injury.
The gaffer further added, “Cesc played a good game in a match which was a difficult one to come into
“He showed good personality. I know I can always count on him.”
