Jamie Redknapp has hailed Diego Costa as the best striker in the Premier League. The Blues frontman has been in superb form as he has already scored 11 goals till now.
The Spaniard netted his 11th goal of the season to equalise against Manchester City which they eventually went on to win 3-1 with goals from Willian and Eden Hazard.
Costa endured a very difficult season last term as Chelsea finished in a dismal 10th position. The forward scored 11 goals last season but overturned his form and has been a mainstay in Chelsea attack.
Since Conte switched to 3-4-3 setup the Striker’s form have gone upwards and if he continues to keep things like this Chelsea could win their sixth Premier League title.
Redknapp said, “Could you imagine the backlash if Costa had gone in for a challenge as bad as Aguero’s on David Luiz?
“We all see Sergio as the saint and Costa the sinner but this was the complete opposite.
“I was up in the stands on Saturday and could even see Costa acting as peacemaker during the fracas at the end.
“We are blessed with the quality of centre forwards in our league.
“Earlier in the season I would have said Aguero was the best of the bunch but now I have to pick Costa. He is the perfect all-round centre forward.”
