Chelsea defender David Luiz has claimed that he is ready to take the baton from John Terry. The defender was re-signed by Chelsea in the summer on the deadline day.
Chelsea have the second best defence in the Premier League after Tottenham Hotspur as they have conceded only 11 goals so far and the credit partly goes to David Luiz. The 29-year old has been rock solid in the heart of Chelsea defence this term.
He has been often labelled as a tough tackler as he has the knack of going into unnecessary tackles but has turned into a completely different defender. The defender is one of the oldest players for the Blues and believes that he could replicate the role what Terry used to do for the club.
“When you get older, you want to organise your bedroom more than when you are young, no?
“It’s quite like this, just part of getting older. If not that means I’m going the wrong way. You need to be ready to improve every day and be available to do that immediately, from your first day.
“If I think I am the same player as many years before, this is not a good mentality.”
