Tottenham Hotspur put in another great performance to take all three points at St. Mary’s stadium against Southampton. The Saints led through a Virgil Van Dijk header in the second minute itself but Tottenham managed to turn the game around with headers from Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
Nathan Redmond was sent off in the 57th minute when he was deemed to have pulled Alli’s shirt in the box but Kane skied the following penalty. Son and Alli both extended Tottenham’s lead with goals in the 85th and 87th minute.
The Best & The Worst Tottenham Hotspur Players Rated From Their Win Vs Southampton
Hugo Lloris: 7.5/10
The Frenchman didn’t have much to do after the first goal in the second minute of the game itself although he was a little clumsy with one of his clearances in the second half but fortunately for him, Hojbjerg wasn’t able to hit the ball cleanly.
Kyle Walker: 7.5/10
Walker did really well to get into good offensive positions and helped stretch Southampton’s defence but struggled a bit against Ryan Bertrand in the first half.
Eric Dier: 7.5/10
Dier defended quite well at the back although his positioning during set-pieces was a bit suspect at times.
Jan Vertonghen: 8/10
The Belgian had a good game at the back as he made some vital clearances and interceptions.
Danny Rose: 8/10
Rose did really well to move the ball forward whenever possession was overturned. Along with Walker, he did well to stretch Southampton’s defence wide.
