It was a nauseating case of Déjà vu for the Liverpool fans as they watched in horror as their beloved Reds gave them the spine-chilling collapses that they had come to detest, especially after the 3-3 draw at Selhurst Park a couple of years ago. Leading comfortably in the 63rd minute with the score 3-1, little did anyone fathom what was about to come. A Cherries onslaught and a cowering Liverpool side sixes and sevens at the back. While they will take a while to recover from this setback, which Klopp will eventually make sure they do, let us take a look at how the Reds performed.
KARIUS- 4/10
Another error-ridden performance from the German. Beaten 4 times and gifted Bournemouth the victory by dropping the ball for Ake’s winner. Did make a couple of smart saves either side of half-time but it was too little. First team place under threat.
CLYNE- 7/10
Put in an assured and dependable shift at right-back. Positioning top notch for most of the match and lent good support at the other end.
LOVREN- 5/10
Looked comical in the second half and seems to be lost without Matip by his side. Party culpable for the penalty and major part of the late collapse.
LEIVA- 6/10
Drafted in place of the injured Matip, it was a tale of two halves for the senior pro. Looked at ease initially while his lack of pace and height was rudely exposed in the harrowing last 30 minutes.
MILNER- 5.5/10
Never ending energy and was kept busy throughout but once he conceded the penalty, looked shorn of confidence.
