Celtic reestablished their 11-point lead at the top of the table with a 2-1 win against Dundee in the Premiership. Even though Dundee almost made a late fightback that led to a nervy finish, Celtic did enough to see off the pressure and collect their 15th win in the Premiership. A stunning free-kick from Leigh Griffiths, just before the half-time interval, gave them the lead and Nir Bitton doubled it 12 minutes after half-time with a composed finish from 18-yards.
Celtic looked dominant from the very start but after getting a two-goal lead, Dundee were slowly building the pressure. They eventually pegged one back in the 69th minute through Marcus Haber after a slip from Cristian Gamboa and troubled a tired Celtic side late on. The win means they are now unbeaten in 20 domestic matches.
Here are Celtic player ratings from the game.
Craig Gordon- 6.5/10
Had very little to do in the first half. Could have done very little for the goal he conceded. Showed his excellent awareness to come off his line well to narrow the space for El Bakhtaoui.
Cristian Gamboa: 7/10
Started the game really well. Defended well and often burst forward. Put in two brilliant deliveries into the box. Linked up with Mackay-Steven really well. Slipped inside the box which gave Haber the chance to score.
Jozo Simunovic: 7.5/10
A calm and composed display. Played out of the defence and passed well.
Erik Sviatchenko: 7/10
Was aerially superb. His Front-footed defending was good and he showed his fearlessness in tackles.
Emilio Izaguirre: 7/10
Was strong defensively. Used his pace to track back when in danger.
Nir Bitton: 8/10
A brilliant game from the Israel international. Made a brilliant pass for Griffiths who failed to convert. Dictated the tempo of the game. Scored his first goal of the season with a neat finish.
