Marcel Schmelzer(7/10): Fluctuated possession for the most periods of the game, had the most touches than any other player on the field, but failed to deliver a dangerous cross in order to unlock the opposition defence.
Julian Weigl(7/10): Had a relatively quiet afternoon, circulated the ball around and played his usual game but due to the lack of ball carriers in the middle, Weigl’s performance was not complimented well.
Gonzalo Castro(6.5/10): Absolutely awful in the middle, Castro’s second season with Dortmund does not seem to be going in the right direction as the former Leverkusen man completely fails to replace the boots of Ilkay Gundogan over and over again.
Often lacking the composure in the final third or the tenacity to break through the defence.
Erik Durm(6.5/10): Started his first game this season and that too in an unfamiliar midfield role alongside Julian Weigl. Failed to create much in the middle, and his overall passing was awful with an accuracy of 66%.
Ousmane Dembele(7.5/10): Was lively in the first half and was also able to breach the defence more than once but the rigid system by the opposition proved too much for the young French International.
Marco Reus(8/10): Reus was very consistent with his overall gameplay. Looked dangerous every time he got onto the ball, his link up play with Aubameyang and Dembele was eye-catching.
Capped off the excellent performance with a goal in the final minute.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang(7/10): Not the best of the games for the Gabonese superstar. Even though he generated a lot of chances using his abilities but was mostly unlucky.
Aubameyang however, still leads the scoring chart in the Bundesliga with 15 goals.
