Borussia Dortmund failed to capitalise on their good performance in midweek’s Champions League fixture against Real Madrid as they were held at the hands of FC Koln on Saturday. The Black and Yellows squabbled around the Koln penalty area but failed to unlock the strong defence.
While Artjoms Rudnevs headed for the home side just around the half and hour mark, Reus was on hand, to save Dortmund a point, in late stages to make it 1:1.
Roman Weidenfeller (6.5/10): Failed to continue his excellent performance against Real Madrid on Wednesday. Took ages to dive across the Rudnevs header for the first goal, and didn’t too much after the goal either.
Lukasz Piszczek(6.5/10): Found himself mostly in the final third but faded away as the game went on.
However, the Polish defender got injured and was replaced by Marc Bartra in the first half.
Marc Bartra(6.5/10): A very underwhelming performance from the 25-year-old. Did nothing special to stop Koln from counter attacks.
Ended up with zero interceptions and five tackles attempted.
Sokratis(6.5/10): Was awful in defence. Got owned by Modeste quite a lot of times, in the first half and was literally toothless while defending off the Koln counterattacks.
Matthias Ginter(7/10): Ginter was a key in Dortmund’s buildup phase.
Made the joint most passes in the game, along with Schmelzer(77) and won three aerial battles while making two interceptions.
