Arturo Vidal (8.5/10): A strong figure in midfield, Vidal was the foremost reason for Bayern’s dominance in the middle.
Played important role in winning back possession and making strong challenges to keep minimise the potential of the talented Wolfsburg midfielders.
Thiago Alcantara (9.5/10): Speaking of talent, Thiago Alcantara once again showed his credential with an astonishing performance vs. Wolfsburg. The Spanish International featured in the middle alongside Vidal in the double pivot system.
Ended up making NINE(!) interceptions and his composure was evident in Bayern’s possession phases.
Arjen Robben (9.5/10): Was excellent, to say the least. Always a threat, whenever, wherever he touched the ball. Opened a scoring with an amazing curled effort from long range, in what we can call his signature strike.
Presented an assist for the Muller goal.
Thomas Muller (9/10): Finally broke his duck and scored his first goal in this season’s Bundesliga with the simplest of touches.
Thomas Muller finally seemed to be back to his former self as his movements in the middle were crucial to open up spaces for Bayern.
Franck Ribery (8.5/10): Proved a constant threat for the Wolfsburg back line. Making straight runs into defence, playing the quick passing game to outclass the opposition and full of running, Ribery was a handy outlet for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Robert Lewandowski (10/10): Undoubtedly the best player on the field, Lewandowski scored his second consecutive brace in the league, after capping off an excellent performance with a long-range effort, which took a deflection of a Wolfsburg defender, completely bamboozling Diego Benaglio in the process.
