Arsene Wenger praises Olivier Giroud after the striker scored a last gasp winner against West Brom to give Arsenal full three points on Boxing Day. Giroud scored in the 86th minutes to give the Gunners an edge over the Baggies.
After two successive defeats, Arsenal were very much adamant for a win. Wenger handed Giroud his first start and the French international didn’t disappoint his boss. He headed home from a brilliant Mesut Ozil cross to give something to cheer for the Arsenal supporters in the last week of this year.
They lost their previous two matches and any mishap in this match would have led them to a further misery.
Weger said, “He’s a fighter and has a fantastic mentality. It has been frustrating for him because he didn’t always play but I think we have an honest relationship.
“Part of the job of a player is to be always ready. The players who are always ready will be there and the players who feel sorry for themselves give you one more reason to justify why you didn’t select them. The fighters are always ready.”
