Arsene Wenger has made it clear that he won’t be selling Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. Both the players have been delaying their contract extensions over a hefty pay rise.
The duo have 18 months left on their contract and are attracting interest from a number of clubs. Sanchez recently got a multi-million-pound offer from China but will unlikely to accept it.
Chelsea are reportedly interested in the Chilean and could test Arsenal with a big money move while Mesut Ozil has refused to rule out a return to his old club Real Madrid.
However rather than selling a player to archrivals the Gunners will prefer to leave the player after their contract ends. Arsene Wenger has warned that he is not going to sell the players, “18 months is quite long in football you know.
“They have 18 months contract and are completely committed and will do well as long as they are here. Beyond that we will try to extend their contract.
“No matter what happens they will stay 18 months, and hopefully much longer
at some stage you have to accept negotiations are private and secret, we don’t have to come out every day to explain everything. We are professionals, we’ll work until the last day of our contracts.”
