Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are demanding a staggering hike from their current wages to sign the new contract. They reportedly want the same wage equivalent to what Paul Pogba earns at Manchester United.
Both have been delaying the contract extension as they were not happy with the wage being offered to them. Ozil currently earns a healthy £140,000-a-week while Sanchez takes home £130,000 a week. Arsenal were ready to pay the duo around £180,000 a week but they turned down the offer.
Paul Pogba is the highest earner in the Premier League. The second and third spot is also occupied by two Manchester United players with Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic earning £260,000 and £250,000 respectively.
Arsenal are confident that they will reach a conclusion as a host of clubs are very eager to entice them. Ozil recently admitted that he is always ready for a move back to Real Madrid.
The pair have only 18 months left on their contract and the Gunners have to act very quickly to keep hold of their prized assets.
