Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has claimed that 87 or 88 points will be enough for them to lift the title. Arsenal got past West Bromwich Albion 1-0 in the last match after suffering back to back defeats at the hands of Everton and Manchester City.
The Gunners are right now fourth in the points table with 37 points and next they are up against Crystal Palace at the Emirates.
Chelsea have been unbeaten in their last 12 games and Antonio Conte’s players are playing on a different level. Cech spent eleven seasons at the Stamford Bridge before being signed by Arsenal last year. Since then he has been the number one choice for Arsene Wenger even at this age.
Cech believes that every team is bound to have their slump in form, “Overall you need to be consistent to get to 87 or 88 points and it doesn’t really matter how you get to that.
“If you have back-to-back losses then you have to go and make up for it in different games. Then you can catch up.
“It’s a long-term competition so if you have a period where you’ve not been particularly great, you can still make up for it.
“There are still enough games to make up for our blip and I also think it’s impossible for our opponents to not drop points.
“There’s still a big opportunity for us to close the gap now. Between now and the end of January, the table might look completely different.”
