Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy has slammed Arsene Wenger for blocking his move to Manchester United.
The 31-year-old has been a bench warmer in this season and has fallen down the pecking order behind Hector Bellerin and Carl Jenkinson.
He spent the last half of the season on loan at Bordeaux and had performed pretty decently for the French outfit. Former United manager Louis Van Gaal wanted him to sign but Wenger was very reluctant to sell him.
Debuchy replaced Hector Bellerin in a 3-1 win against Bournemouth as the latter was injured. But The French defender had to be subbed off after just 16 minutes of play as he also suffered an injury.
Since then he hasn’t featured for the Gunners in the Premier League and is expected to leave the club in January.
Debuchy revealed, “I wasn’t playing a lot, it was United, there’s nothing else to say. For me, it was almost unexpected, but the coach said no
“It’s something I did not appreciate. He wasn’t using me, so I didn’t see his interest in doing that.”
