Shkodran Mustafi will miss at least three weeks after injuring his hamstring in a 3-1 win over Stoke City.
Mustafi will miss the entire December month and is going to a miss a number of games including the most crucial one against Manchester City. The defender arrived from Valencia this summer and is yet to taste defeat in a Gunners jersey. The German was seen limping off the field after just 25 minutes of play and later it was revealed that he has injured his hamstring.
The 24-year-old has formed a formidable pairing in the Arsenal backline that has conceded 15 goals in the English top flight. His injury means Arsene Wenger now has to deploy either Gabriel or Rob Holding in the heart of the Gunners defence.
On being asked about the extent of Mustafi’s injury Wenger answered, “It looks like a good hamstring strain, good in the bad sense.
“The minimum is 21 days. That means he will have a nice Christmas.”
