Manchester United are targeting Benfica right-back Nelson Semedo. Semedo broke into the scene last year when he made his debut for Benfica.
Manchester United are in talks with Benfica to sign defender Victor Lindelof. Benfica president reportedly flew to Manchester to complete the deal and it is being reported that United is also trying to include Semedo in that deal.
Antonio Valencia is currently United’s first choice right back and has been one of the best performers of the Red Devils this season. Valencia is basically a winger who has turned himself into a right back.
Semedo is a proper right back who has visionary eyes for passes and crosses. Valencia’s defensive quality is good but he sometimes takes too much time to track back which allows the opposition players to start a counter.
Semedo reportedly has a release clause of £54m but the English side can sign him for much less.
