Memphis Depay
Well, it is definitely a long shot but Sunderland should give it a try. The former United surely enjoys some benefits from the club. Depay has been rumoured to be available on loan this coming January (AS Roma is being touted as a possible destination) and with Sunderland needing someone at the front who can go directly to the first team, Depay could be a really impactful loanee.
Since recovering from injury, the versatile midfielder has not started even once for Manchester United in the league. He surely doesn’t have the manager’s trust currently and a small stint at Sunderland might bring him back to the good touch.
Depay could follow Januzaj’s lead to the Stadium of Light.
Carl Jenkinson
Sunderland doesn’t have the largest of transfer budgets and Jenkinson fits their bill perfectly. The former Charlton player has started his season horribly at Arsenal with the manager stating that he has lost his confidence.
He has already been dropped and the club is most likely disposing of him this coming winter. Jenkinson will not be having an immediate impact but it surely beefs up Sunderland’s defensive options in the central and right defensive positions.
Moyes already has options in Javier Manquillo, Donald Love and Jason Denayer, who could all fill that option. But with FA Cup coming up and the number of matches to increase in the coming months, Moyes will be more than happy to have a defender with four years of Premier League experience as a backup option.
