Marco Verratti
Now, he is not the player Arsenal generally, goes for in the transfer market. He is very high-rated and is wanted by many across Europe’s top leagues. But Wenger is often heard stating that if he finds the right talent, he will always go for it.
With Verratti’s strong passing, dribbling abilities, the talented midfielder is also able to provide some incisive passes from the middle. Verratti’s ability to hold the ball and give penetrating passes makes him a strong asset for Wenger.
The fact that he is only 24 years old makes him the perfect long term prospect for Arsenal. Verratti’s beautiful layoffs are sometimes a treat to watch and he is not afraid to go for a tackle.
Arsenal is acquainted with abilities as they lately faced PSG last midweek.
Will Hughes
Given Wenger’s love for bringing in youngsters and nurturing them to great players, Will Hughes could be an ideal option. Although Hughes is very young (21), he has already played 150 games.
He made his debut for the first team when he was just 17 in April 2012 in the final game of the season against Peterborough and quickly garnered applauds for his touch, control, and vision. His composure on the ball earned him quite a lot of fans.
His progress was shortened by a horrific injury which made him miss almost all of the 2015-16 season. He had damaged his anterior cruciate ligament which needed surgery to repair.
But he is back now and is having a contract issue with his club Derby County.
