Adam Lallana Vs Glenn Whelan
Lallana has been at the top of his form this season and has become somewhat of an indispensable player to the team. He is pretty elusive in the final third with his nimble footwork and his end product has improved leaps and bounds in the last few months. Hughes is likely to Whelan in the pivot to stop the tricky attacker.
Whelan’s has never hogged the limelight in the midfield as his game is not about being flashy but getting the dirty work done in the midfield. On an average, he’s won two tackles every game and he’ll have to raise those stats when he’s up against Lallana and the Liverpool attack force.
Xherdan Shaqiri Vs James Milner
Milner has been outstanding at left-back and has astonished many Liverpool fans who doubted his versatility tag. Filling in instead of the error-prone Alberto Moreno, Milner has shown good defensive as well as attacking abilities.
If there’s one way of getting the better of Milner, it’s perhaps with the burst of pace that Shaqiri possesses. The Swiss international is a nimble-footed player and has a venomous shot on him, so Milner will need to be extra careful.
Shaqiri’s spell at Stoke has been plagued by injuries which have resulted in inconsistent performances and the good showing shave come only in patches. He’ll want to score against the side he almost joined in 2014.
