What a season Chelsea are having this time around! At this point in the last season, they were not even in the top half of the table and now they are at the top of the table winning eight games in a row. Antonio Conte is nothing short of a magician. In just a few months, he turned around the Blues to the force they used to be and the West London side look to be the frontrunners for the title.
Despite the team doing so well, Conte must have wanted to bolster his squad in the upcoming transfer windows. There are a number of areas where the Blues lack options and the team can be stretched by injuries. Central midfield is one of those positions. talkSPORT claims that one of Chelsea’s major midfield targets Marcelo Brozovic is set to commit his long-term future to Inter Milan.
Brozovic is a quality midfielder with all-round abilities who ticks all the boxes Conte wants in his midfielders. But, Chelsea have to look for alternatives of the Croat now. Here are three players whom they could consider signing-
Saul Niguez
Having a player like Saul Niguez at the club is a blessing for any team in the world. The 21-year-old is as versatile as one could be. He is naturally a number eight but is doing so well for Simeone’s side from the right flank.
The Spanish international can also play in defensive midfield, attacking midfield, centre forward and even as a central defender As you expect from a Spaniard, Saul is blessed with an excellent ability on the ball and possesses good technique. His passing ability is top-notch and he can play killer passes, splitting opponents’ defence.
Atletico Madrid are not having a particularly good season this time out and Chelsea could use that to their advantage.
