Twitter Erupts After The Latest Development Involving This Rangers Bad-Boy

Rangers will finally bring ‘the Joey Barton Saga’ to an end on Wednesday after agreeing on a severance deal with the controversial English midfielder, according to recent reports. The Gers are desperate to offload the English midfielder whom they signed this summer only on a free transfer. The 34-year-old has not been seen at the club for a week after being signed off with stress and it seems that the Gers are looking to get to get rid of him.

Barton has not been seen in a Rangers kit since their humiliating 5-1 thrashing by rivals Celtic back in September. He was involved in a bust-up with teammate Andy Halliday and boss Mark Warburton to make things worse after their humiliation in the first Old Firm Derby of the season. Warburton was left furious when Barton refused to apologise after questioning his manager’s coaching methods and tactics.

The situation led to a club suspension over the former Manchester City man and things did not improve at all which is why Rangers had to take such a big step. Barton was eventually allowed to return to training last Thursday, but it was made clear he would not be rejoining the first-team group as he was instead ordered to train with the club’s Under-20s team. Even areas like the training ground gym were even ruled off-limits when the rest of the first-team were present.

The Barton saga had turned to almost a soap opera before the management had to too much of it and chairman Dave King’s board are now set to draw a line under the episode by agreeing on a settlement package. Barton’s whole career has been full of controversies and this adds a whole new chapter in the talented midfielder’s troubled career.

Twitter erupted when this news came out. Most people trolled the English midfielder while Rangers were also trolled by the Celtic fans. Here are some best tweets on the incident.
