A lot of players have been linked with Manchester United recently and the latest player in the list is Gelson Martins of Sporting Lisbon. AC Milan are also reportedly keeping a tab on the player.
A product of the Sporting Lisbon academy, the winger has impressed this season and has scored two goals and assisted seven goals in all competitions. Sporting Lisbon have the history to produce talented players with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Ricardo Quaresma.
United are believed to have been tracking the 21-year-old for the past few months. Martins was brilliant against Borussia Dortmund but eventually his team went on to lose the match 1-0.
Jose Mourinho has been using Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford on the wings. Both the players are very pacey and have the knack of cutting back inside. Mourinho needs someone who can use the width of the pitch and can deliver crosses well and Martins can do that.
Memphis Depay has failed to impress the gaffer and probably on his way out in January. Martins could be the ideal signing that Mourinho has been looking for.
