Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier has accused Manchester United player Ander Herrera of elbowing during England’s 2-2 draw against Spain.
Herrera made his debut for Spain when he replaced Thiago Alcantara at the stroke of 56th minutes. Herrera made the contact five minutes from time when Spain were still trailing by two goals. Adam Lallana and Jamie Vardy gave a two-goal lead to the host country but the La Rojas scored in the dying minutes through Iago Aspas and Isco to level terms with The Three Lions.
Dier went to Herrera after the final whistle was blown and was involved in a heated conversation with the player. He later claimed that he will ‘See him soon’ and that means we could see an ugly duel between them when the two sides will meet on next month.
The England international said, “I think it’s pretty clear what he did and I can feel it on my cheek now. So I know what he did, and I don’t like that kind of stuff.
“I don’t mind people kicking each other at times and stuff but that’s just dirty and not needed.
“I’ve made a pass and it was a long time afterwards and he’s elbowed me in the face and I just can’t see why. For me, it’s just ridiculous.”
On being asked if he is demanding an apology from The Red Devils midfielder Dier answered, “I don’t need him to apologise. I’ll see him soon…
“These things happen. But I don’t know why he did it, to be honest. That’s why I was angry. It was just strange and it’s not nice.”
