VINCENT JANSSEN (TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR)
The move for the Dutch striker was beneficial on paper for both the player and Spurs. He had aspirations of moving to a big club and with news of Tottenham being interested in him, the player left no chance to declare his admiration for them.
And a striker was of paramount importance for the Lilywhites with Harry Kane their only recognized front-man.
But Janssen hasn’t been able to justify his move or match the expectations till now, having scored a single goal and missing easy chances.
He has failed to grasp the opportunities presented to him and had a golden opportunity to show his mettle with Kane injured. But the chance went begging and there is little scope for him to break into the first team in the near future.
ODION IGHALO (WATFORD)
Great things were expected of the Nigerian this season but till now he has fallen way short. Watford’s strength lies in their front two and their consistency and chemistry gave hope of an encore this season. But we have failed to see the same zing from the pair up top.
Although goals from different areas have cushioned the blow to an extent, the Hornets need Ighalo’s goals this season. After scoring 15 goals last season, he has a solitary goal in 11 matches till now which is a cause for concern.
