Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Harry Kane has admitted that he has a dream to captain England some day.
The 23 year has been a revelation since making his debut in the 2014-15 season. The striker came through the ranks of Tottenham Hotspur and so far has netted on 67 occasions for the North Londoners and now Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino handed him the vice-captaincy this season.
Kane said, “It’s my personality. I’ve always been a leader, on and off the pitch. I don’t think a captain is just having the ability to shout on the pitch, or moan at someone.
“It comes with a whole package … meeting with the fans and having that aura in the dressing room. I’ve managed to captain Spurs a couple of times. It would be a dream to captain Spurs full time and captain England. Who wouldn’t want to do that?.”
The striker has recently been linked with a move to Manchester united. The Red Devils have been searching a prolific goal scorer with Wayne Rooney failing miserably this season. Kane has been engaging in a contract standoff with the club as he wants a wage in the range of £100,000-a-week but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is very reluctant to break the wage structure.
He went on to add, “Spurs give young players a chance. A lot of that is down to the manager. It takes a brave manager to go and do it.
“It is easy nowadays with the money. There’s a lot of players you can buy, so you can just get experienced players you know can do a job, who might not be as good as the young players coming through but it’s less of a risk.”
