BORO’S PASSION SHINES THROUGH
As against Arsenal last month, Middlesbrough went in with a different formation with a 3-man midfield and similar to last time, they came out of the match with a valuable point. Karanka’s willingness to adapt should also be lauded along with the players who seem to be ready to leave every bit of themselves on the field for the team’s sake. They threw their bodies around and unlike a few teams did not throw in the towel even after being thoroughly dominated in the matches. This particular quality will hold them in good stead as the season progresses.
MANCHESTER CITY NOT THE TITLE FAVOURITES ANYMORE?
Three home matches on the trot against Everton, Southampton and Middlesbrough. Three draws, three points. All the matches were winnable and a team with the reserves such as City should be winning comfortably. But three 1-1 draws later, City find themselves dislodged from their No.1 spot for the first time. The season is a long one but it is clear Guardiola needs to sort out a lot of things before we can label City as the favourites.
