Arsenal left back Nacho Monreal has admitted that he can’t say no to Athletic Bilbao if they ever approach him.
The 30 year old left back has been the first choice for Arsene Wenger after making a significant improvement. The full back hails from Basque country and has been linked with the club recently. The Spanish international who came through Osasuna academy, was signed from Malaga in 2013 and has racked up 143 appearances for The Gunners.
The defender however gave assurance that right now he is not thinking about any other clubs, “I have great affection for Athletic but I think only about the present, not what could happen in the future.
“Although I am keeping all my options open.”
Monreal had signed a new deal in January and it is very obvious that he won’t leave in winter having established himself as the first choice right back at Arsenal. He is also Spain’s current first choice left back due to an injury to Jordi Alba.
