McNair (7.5/ 10) – Made some good forward runs which were difficult for opposition players to stop. Was good in the second half. Could not stay long as Pienaar’s red card led him to be sacrificed.
Pienaar (6/ 10) -For a seasoned Premier League midfielder, Pienaar was too immature in his performance. Sunderland were lucky not to get too discouraged by his absence and go on to win.
Anichebe (9/ 10) – Probably the best player for Sunderland on the field today. He attacked, scored, defended and also took hits. His work rate was phenomenal and his beastly figure was too much for the opposition to tackle. It was he who made the difference for the Black Cats.
Ndong (8/ 10) – Sunderland hardly attacked throughout the game except for the initial minutes of both the halves. But when they did they had a different conviction. Had a shot on target but could not score. Made 5 attacking third passes which created problems for Bournemouth.
Watmore (8/ 10) – Was continuously seen linking up with Defoe up front. Gave 4 successful attacking third passes.
Defoe (8.5/ 10) – Kept his perfect record. Scored from yet another spot kick. He has been on an incredible goal scoring form for Sunderland this term and Moyes would be delighted with his bunch of players. .
