Whelan (7/10)
He was very good in his distribution from his midfield position completing 93% of his passes but was unlucky to have scored the own goal as the header from Antonio deflected off him into the goal.
Adam (7/10)
Did what he was asked to do by spraying the ball all across the field and providing the combative midfield play necessary. Was good in the air and in his tackles and had three shots on target as well.
Walters (6.5/10)
Worked very hard and covered a lot of ground but was uncharacteristically poor in his aerial duels and also in his passing. Did however manage to create two chances for his teammates, one of which resulted in a goal.
Allen (6/10)
Stoke’s impressive midfielder wasn’t able to influence the game the way he would have liked but did keep things ticking in the midfield region.
Sobhi (6/10)
Making his first start for the club, Sobhi did show good workrate and defensive discipline, but was guilty of taking the wrong decisions with the ball.
Bony (5/10)
Really poor from the former City man as he struggled to make any sort of impact upfront. Was dominated in the air and was disappointing with his shots as well.
Subs
Bojan (7.5/10)
On for Whelan in the 71st minute, the former Barcelona player instantly turned things around with his good movement and scored the all-important goal to draw his team level in the 75th minute.
Crouch (5/10)
On for the disappointing Bony with 19 minutes to go and was equally frustrating, not being able to complete a single forward pass. The only difference was that he won his headers.
