Stoke City’s 3 match winning streak was halted at the London Stadium on Saturday with the Potters managing to grab a point coming back from behind. Mark Hughes’ men now do have a bit of momentum with a positive run of results but would be disappointed to not take the three points against a West Ham team who were poor for large parts of the game. Let’s take a look at how the Stoke players did in the game on a scale of 10.
Grant (6/10)
Was up to task whenever he was called into action. Did make some good saves but was unlucky to concede the goal which took a deflection of his own player.
Bardsley (7.5/10)
Good on the overlap. Provided support in the attacking phase and was excellent in the defensive play too with his efficient tackles and interceptions.
Shawcross (6/10)
Not entirely convincing in his defensive play but did manage to clear the ball when needed. Needs to do a bit more in the coming weeks.
Martins Indi (7/10)
Despite not being able to win his tackles, the Dutchman actually showed very good positioning sense to clear the danger when needed. Was very good in his clearances and interceptions. Passed the ball decently at the back too.
Pieters (5.5/10)
Passing, tackling and aerial duels. Pieters was disappointing in all the three. Managed just 4 clearances and 2 interceptions in the game and looked out of sorts.
