Leicester City have a trip to Watford to take care of after the international break and Claudio Ranieri will be desperate for his side to start their ascent as soon as possible and for the Foxes, this has to be considered a fixture they should be winning as reigning champions. But things will not be straightforward at all. Watford are in the 8th position and although they are coming off a 6-1 Liverpool mauling, it is expected to be a one-off affair. Walter Mazzarri had done his homework and it is clearly seen from the sort of results Watford have come up till now.
Leicester, on the other hand, have displayed chalk and cheese form when it comes to League and UCL action. They have seemed uninspired in the Premier League and at times teams have cut through their midfield and defence which has reminded the fans of a particular N’Golo Kanté. His absence has hurt them but with a majority of the campaign remaining, they need to shore things up. A slightly pragmatic approach is the call of the hour and Ranieri and Leicester need to be smart to address their League position.
It will be interesting to see what the ex-Tinkerman has up his sleeve this time around.
T4O’S PREDICTED LEICESTER CITY LINE-UP VS WATFORD (4-4-1-1)
DEFENCE
Kasper Schmeichel’s injury is likely to see Ron-Robert Zieler’s chances keep coming. He needs to impress his manager to keep the pressure on the regular custodian once he returns. Danny Simpson is likely to be at right-back although Luis Hernandez offers an alternative to the manager if he wishes to freshen things up. Robert Huth and Wes Morgan will form the central defensive pairing. Fuchs has been impressive, more so going forward and he will look to continue in the same vein.
MIDFIELD
Drinkwater is rated a doubt and his absence will be a big loss to the already brittle midfield. Daniel Amartey and Andy King are expected to sit in the double-pivot. They will have to contend with the likes of Capoue and Pereyra.
The midfield battle might prove to be crucial with Leicester sporting a relatively less imposing midfield. Riyad Mahrez will line up on the right-flank and he needs to step up big time in the League. Albrighton will likely replace Musa on the opposite flank after a failed experiment against West Brom.
ATTACK
Slimani is expected line-up behind the lone striker who could well be Vardy, with the England striker expected to be high on confidence after netting against Spain yesterday.
