The awaited clash between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich is set to take place tonight as the fans get treated to a thrilling matchday which also includes the big Rhine Derby between Koln and Gladbach. In this article, we will look at the predicted lineup of Bayern Munich, which will feature against Thomas Tuchel’s Dortmund side in the topspiel.
Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer is one of those undoubted starters for the Bayern team. A prominent feature after arriving from Schalke a few years ago, Neuer is widely regarded as the best goalkeeper in the world.
The 30-year-old is currently leading the charts of keeping most clean sheets in the league along with Lukas Hradecky. However, his recent form has not been good, keeping just one clean sheet in previous eight matches in all competitions.
Right Back: Bayern captain Philipp Lahm’s value in the team is intangible. His captaincy has led Bayern to glory over the years and once again, it would be put to test when he once against dons his Bayern kit against league’s strongest rivals.
Center Back: The absence of Javi Martinez will cause no dilemma for coach Carlo Ancelotti, as star defender Jerome Boateng is set to start.
Even though the German International hasn’t been in the best of forms recently but the 28-year-old tends to perform well against Dortmund.
Center Back: It will be a second homecoming for former Dortmund captain Mats Hummels, after he visited the Signal Iduna Park last time, in the super cup earlier this season.
Hummels got jeered and whistled by the Dortmund faithful in the first half and he can expect the same today!
Left Back: David Alaba will start as the left back for Bayern this evening. The Austrian defender also found it difficult to settle in Ancelotti’s system and tends to get dispossessed against high pressing opponents but we are aware of the capabilities of the 24-year-old.
Central Defensive Midfield: Veteran Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso is set to take reigns in the middle of the park. The former Real Madrid man offers control and composure in midfield but can easily be dissociated if Tuchel’s men can successfully utilise their pace.
Right Center Midfield: Thiago Alcantara has arguably been the best player for Bayern this season(not naming Franck Ribery). The Spanish International has completed the most passes in the league this season and also made T4O’s Bundesliga TOTS after matchday 10!
Left Center Midfield: Arturo Vidal’s uncertainty leaves Joshua Kimmich in contention for a starting place against Dortmund. The young German defender midfielder has been one of the rising stars for the Bavarians and the German National Team as well.

Right Wing: Franck Ribery, undoubtedly the best Bayern player this season, is set to come back to the pitch after an injury which kept him out for a quite a few games. The Frenchman has already choked up eight assists in just nine appearances for Bayern this season.
He will no doubt, be a key for Carlo Ancelotti’s side as they hope to breach the Black and Yellows defense.
Striker: This probably isn’t the best of seasons for Robert Lewandowski, yet the Polish International has managed to score 14 goals in 16 games for Bayern this season, seven of them coming in the Bundesliga.
Not only that, the 28 year also boasts a very good record against his former team, scoring five goals in eight appearances. He might extend that this evening.
Left Wing: Arjen Robben is uncertain to feature against Dortmund, which means Douglas Costa will start in place of the Dutch wizard. The Brazilian wingman was an instant hit after arriving from Shakhtar and will be looking to provide his flair for good effect tonight.
