Rangers will travel to Firhill Stadium on Saturday to take on Partick thistle in the Premiership. The Gers are sitting third in the table after 13 games and the fans won’t be too happy with how their team has fared so far this season. Many expected them to challenge rivals Celtic for the Premiership title but that has not been the case. Celtic are miles ahead of their rivals in the Premiership race and will be playing Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday. While Warburton’s side are still searching for the formula behind consistency, Celtic could win their first silverware of this season and their first one in Brendan Rodgers’ tenure.
Quite clearly, there is enough inspiration for the blue half of Glasgow to pick up their game and we have to wait and see how they fare against Partick. The hosts are sitting second last on the table with just 13 points to their name and could drop to rock bottom if they lose on Saturday.
Warburton’s side need to be careful while approaching the lowly side as they will be desperate to come up with an upset.
Here is the predicted Rangers lineup against Partick Thistle.
Defence
Wes Foderingham should keep his place under the bar with ease ahead of veteran Matt Gilks. James Tavernier will start at right-back and will be looking to cause menace with his attacking forays. Skipper Lee Wallace will keep his place at left-back.
Even though Danny Wilson is back from injury, veteran Clint Hill is unlikely to be dropped due to his impressive form of late.
The 38-year-old has been rock-solid in defence and has also come handy on the other end of the pitch too. We expect Hill to start at the heart of the defence alongside Rob Kiernan.
