Chelsea host London rivals Tottenham on Saturday as both clubs look to claim the London derby bragging rights. The race for the Premier League title is heating up with the top five teams only separated by four points. Chelsea leapfrogged Liverpool this past weekend, winning their game against Middlesbrough 1-0 while Liverpool were held by Southampton to a 0-0 draw.
Spurs are the only unbeaten team in the Premier League but still they are four points adrift the top spot held by Chelsea. They have had six draws so far in 12 games winning the other six and were recently ousted of the Champions League with loss against Monaco on last night.
Chelsea ended Spurs’ hopes of winning the Premier League title in May after they came from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge in a match that also produced 12 yellow cards.
Pochettino’s boys will be looking for a revenge but will know that it won’t be easy. Chelsea have won all of their last six games conceding none in the process. Here is the predicted Spurs lineup against Chelsea,
Defence
Hugo Lloris will be the obvious choice under the bar. Spurs have a serious crisis at the back with Toby Alderweireld and Ben Davies out with injuries while Danny Rose is suspended. Eric Dier is likely to play at the heart of the defence alongside Jan Vertonghen. With both Rose and Davies unavailable, Kieran Trippier is likely to play at left-back. Kyle Walker should start at right-back.
Midfield
Victor Wanyama is likely to start in the middle of the park and will play the role of the midfield enforcer. Mousa Dembele is likely to accompany the Kenyan in the middle of the park. Dele Alli could play in the number ten role. Alli has shown that he is a big game player time and time again and has to fire in this game while Dembele needs to keep his cool against Chelsea as he was involved in an ugly hot-headed affair when the two sides met last season. The creativity has been missing of late and the likes of Alli and Dembele need to step up and provide the support to Kane.
Attack
Harry Kane has scored four goals in three games since making his comeback from an injury. The England international will be an undisputed choice up front. Son Heung-Min is likely to start on the right flank and will be a big threat with his pace and ability to finish. Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen will start on the left.
