Midfield
Arsene was praised for his selection of Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka in the pivotal position and it will be really interesting to see how he goes for it this time. We expect Ainsley Maitland-Niles to start with Francis Coquelin in the game.
The 19-year-old English International has shown promising signs since last season. Coquelin was rested in the weekend game and Arsenal will be needing his intercepting prowess against a counter-attacking Southampton side.
The central midfield role is expected to be taken by Alex Iwobi. The Nigerian was benched against Bournemouth after his disastrous midweek Champions League match, where he scored an own-goal.
The flanks are expected to be taken by Jeff Rene-Adelaide and Aaron Ramsey. Chamberlain played in the weekend match and Wenger might go with a similar setup next weekend.
Attack
There is a big dilemma in this position at the moment. Wenger will definitely not start with Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud has suffered a hamstring injury in the last match.
Fortunately, Lucas Perez has returned to training ahead of schedule and is expected to start the match.
