But it is evident Pep wants to take a good look at him before deciding on the future course of action.
He still has a long way to go but afforded a chance against United in the EFL cup he was more than a match for Pogba and Ibra and with Pep’s record of promoting youth products from the academy, this might well be a success story.
JOAO CANCELO– VALENCIA
The 22-year old was signed on loan initially from Benfica and has been a bright spark in an otherwise turbulent season for Valencia.
He fits the bill as a player who would be scouted after missing out on Bellerin. Both of them have similar attributes.
He has also scored thrice for Portugal in 3 appearances and the fact that his agent Jorge Mendes is famous for ensuring big money moves for his clients, Pep might well want to have a talk with Mendes.
