Juan Mata is currently enjoying his resurrection under Jose Mourinho. There were clouds hovering over his future when Manchester United appointed Jose Mourinho as their manager. But since Jose’s arrival, the midfielder’s form has gone on to another level. He has racked up 10 appearances in the Premier League and has been one of the most consistent players for the Red Devils.
In their last match, Mata opened United’s scoring in the 68th minute but Olivier Giroud’s header ensured a point for the Gunners. The Spaniard thinks there is no need to be panic and there were plenty of positives from the Arsenal game.
“Against Arsenal we played yet another game where I’ve felt that we did everything, or almost everything, to win and two points slipped away.
“The whole team did a great effort, we had chances, we were solid defensively to keep such a good team like Arsenal away from our box, we were one goal ahead in the 89th minute… and we got a draw. It could have been a great weekend and it leaves a bad taste, but we must be positive.”
United will host Feyenoord and West Ham United in successive matches. They are right now in the sixth place in the and will be looking to embark on a consistent run of positive results. He said,
“This new week we have two more games at Old Trafford and we want to transmit again to our fans all those things I’m talking about.
“It’s really a privilege to play for a crowd with so much passion that supports the team no matter what, both at home and away.”
