Juan Mata has stood out as the most consistent performer for Manchester United this season. The Red Devils are currently placed eighth in the Premier League table after a very frustrating draw with Burnley.
Mata, who arrived from Chelsea in 2014, is confident that they are only a moment away from gaining their form and challenging for titles, “It’s difficult to start a new era after the time Sir Alex was here but I would tell people that this club sooner or later will be fighting for trophies again and hopefully this season,” he said.
United have been struggling under new manager Jose Mourinho after spending a large amount of money in the transfer window to bring Paul Pogba, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. United failed to win a single Premier League match in October.
Mata went on to add, “We are bringing players every year trying to get that and, sooner or later, we are going to get that because, as I said before, we have a great squad and also an unbelievable support behind us. That’s one of the things that makes this club very special, the support we have even in the bad moments.”
