Jose Mourinho has praised Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s attitude despite the striker’s recent goal scoring drought. Manchester United signed Zlatan in the summer from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer. The Swede striker has only scored once in the last 11 matches and United have only managed two wins in their last seven matches. They recently lost to Fenerbahce 2-1 in a Europa League match and will next travel to Swansea to revive their lost glory.
Mourinho belives that despite not scoring goals the striker has been fantastic till now, “He is playing well for the team. He’s creating a lot of chances and missing a lot of goals.
“If I remember Stoke, Liverpool, Chelsea, Burnley, he missed a lot of goals but he was fantastic in his dynamic, his working, his building up for the team, he was fantastic.
“[Against Fenerbahce] I cannot say the same. But in every match in the Premier League, even not scoring goals he’s being fantastic. His attitude is always brilliant. He’s not a guy afraid of his responsibility, so no problem at all.”
Mourinho has a tough task to cut out as a number of players have been sidelined due to injuries. Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia are out for a long period while Paul Pogba’s injury could be a halt to Mourinho’s future plans. The only good news is that Wayne Rooney has scored a goal finally after a very long time. The 31-year-old scored a stunner against Fenerbahce from almost 25 yards.
