Steven Gerrard has said that the MK Dons managerial offer was too quick for him. The 36-year old midfielder had been offered the role of managing the club after they fired Karl Robinson after a very poor spell but he turned it down.
The ex-England international came through the Liverpool academy and went on to make 710 appearances over a span of 17 years. Gerrard ended his long association with Liverpool and choose to join MLS side La Galaxy last year. He made it clear that he won’t renew his contract with the US side and will leave in December.
The veteran midfielder rejected the coaching offer as he thought it was a bit early to take the job. “I’m just taking a bit of time to consider what’s next, exciting times moving forward,”
“I spoke to MK Dons. I had a chat with the chairman, it’s a very exciting job for somebody else but it’s a bit soon for me. But it’s true, I did speak to them.”
